As I signed the Boat Job contract – 18 signature in all – my heart was beating a mile a minute. I was suffering a bit of anxiety; for with each Vincent J. Costa, it became more and more real.
I just know this gig is going to be awesome; to have the opportunity to sing and travel for nine months and not have to bar-tend or deal with hotel stupidity on a daily basis as I try to get a job singing and traveling is going to be quite the change for me…
After sending the contract back and waiting a few days, I received my show materials… I have a collected works of shakespeare which is thinner…
There’s so much to learn and I’m feeling a wee bit overwhelmed.
Actors are trained to deal with rejection. When hearing “No.” “Thank you…” and “Sorry, you just don’t fit into the costume.” on a regular basis, we build up a thick skin. As someone who’s gotten a lot of rejection of late, getting the validation, that yes, I am good enough, I’m smart enough and gosh darn it people like me feels weird to me, and I’m having quite the time dealing with it…

Yes, Vinnie, you are more than good enough, smart enough and I’ve always liked you! You deserve this gig and I am so happy for and proud of you!
@ Kathy – I AM damn it, I AM!
You are good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it, I Love You! We are going to miss you!
