If I Could Talk To The Animals – Lady Baltimore

She's quite the majestic creature...

I met Lady Baltimore in Alaska.

I wanted to spend that balmy day in Juneau being one with nature so I took the Robert’s Tram to the top of the mountain to hang out in a nature preserve.

When I got to the top, after walking through the gift shop – they make you walk through it to get in and get out, now that’s good marketing – I made it outside and discovered Lady Baltimore.

Lady B is a bald eagle.

She was shot in the head by a would be poacher and somehow miraculously  survived the brutal attack.

She was found and nursed back to health but lost her left eye. Because of her handicap she can no longer fly.

I must’ve spent twenty minutes visiting with her, she loved to pose for the camera and wasn’t afraid to show off her “bad side.”

She made me see that no matter what, one can survive against all odds – she’s an inspiration.
